Vintage 80s ivory lace bridal gown. I am an avid collector of "ghost dresses" and this one takes the cake! She is a work of art - 1988 meets 1908 realness with all of the spooky glamour and none of the tackiness you often see in 80s bridal. Floor length ivory lace, lined with an off-white poly satin shell. Asymmetrical mermaid skirt has lace trim and a bit of a trail that flows beautifully when you walk around haunting your living family members and bemoaning your untimely demise. The front has a high-cut neckline with a sheer cutout, delicate floral accents with iridescent fringe beading and diamante detail. Lace appliques placed around the shoulders and skirt. Zips up the back with a hook and eye closure at the top and two buttons at the back of the neck. She still has her shoulder pads intact but they can be easily removed if you like a more modern shape.
She will best fit a women's size Small or Medium. Originally marked a women's US size 16, but due to vanity sizing, this translates to roughly a women's US size 6-8 today. I would put her at about a 6 to be safe but PLEASE don't hesitate to ask about measurements if you aren't sure! Straight cut so she will flatter lots of different body shapes. She is 18" across under the arms laying flat. The outside of the shoulder bib area measures 19" end to end with the shoulder pads intact. Sleeves are 23" long, full length of gown is 55". I am 5'2" for reference.
This one is in incredible condition with no imperfections that I can see. Comes with spare beading for repairs in the future if needed. She is a true collector's item and one of the most decadent pieces I've ever listed!
